There has been a lot of information about Swine Flu in the community. Mater Health Services staff are working with the authorities to monitor the situation.

Annual Review 2008

Though it all seems a bit of blur now, last year was an enormous year for Mater Health Services. The transfer of services in readiness for the Queensland Children’s Hospital, the purchase of new equipment and the opening of new facilities all contributed to outstanding outcomes.

Changes to Raymond Tce Car Park

Planning is well underway to deliver the new Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH), opening in progressive stages with scheduled completion in 2014. The QCH will be a world-class facility to bring the best health care to children and young people.

Road works and earthworks will start in the Raymond Terrace area from January 2009 to help clear and prepare the future construction site of the new QCH.

MPHR excels in Press Ganey survey MPHR excels in Press Ganey survey

Mater Private Hospital Redland (MPHR) has been ranked the number one private hospital in Australia for patient satisfaction in the last quarter, surpassing the other 148 private hospitals throughout the country whose patient satisfaction is subject to assessment by the Press Ganey organisation.

Mater brings hope to those in need

For 23 years Russian twenty-six year old Kira Samyelova suffered from debilitating scoliosis which saw her u-shaped back curved 98 degrees as her ribcage touched her pelvis.

Today, after life-changing surgery at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane by Spinal Surgeon, Dr Geoffrey Askin in early October and a lengthy recovery period, Kira’s life has been transformed.
