The Honourable Stephen Robertson MP, Minister for Health and the Most Reverend Brian V Finnigan DD, Auxilary Bishop for Brisbane lead the official ceremony and blessing of the newly relocated A$39.3 million Queensland Paediatric Cardiac Service at Mater Children’s Hospital on Thursday 12 June.

On Wednesday 4 June 2008 women and newborns from the current public and private Mater Mothers’ Hospitals are moving to the new Mater Mothers’ Hospitals, which were officially opened by Her Excellency, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, Governor of Queensland in the presence of the Premier and Prime Minister on Friday 30 May.

On Thursday 5 June Tabitha Ford from North Lakes helped kickstart the UQ Masters of Mental Health (Art Therapy) Graduating Students Art Exhibition at the Kids in Mind Art Gallery at Mater Hospital in South Brisbane.
After 420 000 hours in labour, Mater Health Services has delivered their latest addition weighing in at 27 000 tonnes and measuring 40 metres—the brand new Mater Mothers’ Hospitals.
Set to provide enhanced public services in a range of clinical specialities, the newly refurbished Mater Adult Hospital and Emergency Department will be officially opened by the Queensland Health Minister, the Honourable Stephen Robertson MP on Wednesday, 30 April 2008.
