Mater Children's Hospital

Mater Children's Hospital is a major tertiary referral centre, which has been providing specialist paediatric healthcare services to children throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales since 1931.

On 29 November 2014, Mater Children's Hospital will close and our services will transfer into the new government-owned and operated Lady Cilento Children's Hospital on a site adjacent to Mater Children's Hospital, between Stanley Street and Raymond Terrace.

This new hospital is a combination of Mater Children's Hospital and Royal Children's Hospital.

Mater will continue to provide services for privately-funded paediatric patients at the new Mater Children’s Private Brisbane following the transition to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.  The newly-refurbished private service will provide access to Queensland's leading paediatric doctors, nurses and other care providers. As the service develops we will continue to provide information here.

To find out more about the new Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, visit their website, join their discussions on Facebook or email lcch-feedback@health.qld.gov.au.
