What not to bring
Valuables
As Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital is unable to accept liability for losses, please bring essential items only. A lockable drawer is provided in each room. If you place anything in the drawer, please remember to lock it and keep the key with you at all times. If you need extra cash to buy a newspaper or other items, an Automatic Teller Machine is located on level 5 of the hospital, for your convenience.
Smoking and illegal drugs
Smoking is not permitted in Mater hospital buildings.
Smoking while you are breastfeeding is not recommended. If you wish to smoke, please inform your midwife or nurse. You must have someone to care for your baby while you are out of your room. The smoking area is located in the terraces outside the original Mater Mothers’ Hospital.
Taking illegal drugs is not permitted during your stay at Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital.
