Annual Review 2007

When the Sisters of Mercy opened the first Mater Hospital at North Quay, they made a commitment to meet the health care needs of the community. That commitment remains a cornerstone of our organisation and is a central theme through our Mission and Values.

To ensure we continue to meet that commitment, Mater has developed business strategies within our not-for-profit framework which address the issues of financial, social and environmental sustainability. These strategies focus holistically on Mater’s role as a health care provider, as an employer and as a contributor to the broader community.

The 2007 Mater Annual Review has been developed in accord with these strategies and has been produced in two parts—a summary document printed on recycled paper and a website, which provides details and extra features not available in the printed version.

This approach allows us to reach more people using fewer resources and highlights a changing approach to health care information. Always at the forefront of innovation, the people at Mater Health Services hope you will enjoy this new approach to our Annual Review. Feel free to send your feedback to Luke Morton.
