Hancock Street Car Park opening soon

Mater people

Tuesday, 10 November 2009

Hancock Street Car Park (stage one) is now open to the public. Raymond Terrace Car Park is now permanently closed to all traffic.

Who can access the new car park?

All Mater staff and members of the general public can use Hancock Street Car Park. You can access the car park via Hancock Street, off Raymond Terrace or via Graham Street, into Raymond Terrace.

How do I pay for parking?

The general public will be issued with a ‘Smart Card’ ticket when they enter the car park. These cards can only be used at Hancock Street Car Park. Parking can be paid for at auto-pay stations, or via credit card at exit.

There are some important things you should know before you enter Hancock Street Car Park:

  • you may no longer use paper car park tickets—Hancock Street Car Park uses a ‘Smart Card’ ticketing system
  • these cards can only be used at Hancock Street Car Park, and will not work at other Mater Car Parks
  • you can pay for your parking at auto pay stations within the lift lobbies on levels one, two and three. There is an additional pay station near the Customer Service Centre, level one
  • if you wish to use a credit card, you can pay for parking at the exit stations as you leave the car park
  • to purchase a ‘multi-pass’ ticket, please see staff at the Customer Service Centre, level one.

Mater staff members may enter and exit Hancock Street Car Park by swiping their Staff Proximity Card.

Important ticket information: ‘Smart Cards’ are reusable, which means Mater is reducing its waste
