Life saving surgery allows twins to celebrate their own miracle of Christmas… at home

After spending two months in the intensive and special care nurseries at Mater Mothers' Hospital, identical twins Jackson and Mason Bourke will be going home Monday, 20 December 2004 in time for Christmas after overcoming twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) and other serious medical difficulties.

Doctors warn to keep cool this summer as temperatures start to climb

Doctors at Mater Hospital in Brisbane are asking the public to protect themselves against the heat as temperatures are set to soar this summer.

According to Dr Steve Costello, Director of Mater Private Emergency Care Centre, the sick, elderly, young children and newborns are especially prone to suffer adverse reactions to the heat.
