Australian jazz great James Morrison will join forces with the University of Queensland Medical Society (UQMS) Orchestra TONIGHT at 6.30pm, to create a unique 1920s musical and theatrical extravaganza.
The event, "Jim and Tonic", to be held at City Hall, will raise much-needed funds for Mater Hospitals' Trust and the UQMS's Ashintosh Trust.
For one night only, Brisbane's City Hall will be transformed into Brisbane's biggest "speakeasy", taking the audience back to the days of alcohol prohibition.
Event organiser Nick Brown, from the University of Queensland Medical Students Association, promises that "Jim and Tonic" will be a night to remember for Brisbane music lovers.
"James will wow the audience with a cool mix of jazz, swing, classical and pop music," he said.
"In the audience, we're expecting to see a mix of flapper dresses and pin-striped suits, as well as the occasional gangster."
