Staff from Metalcorp Everything in Steel will be handing over a A$7000 cheque to Mater Children's Hospital on Tuesday 23 November as a heartfelt contribution towards the 4BC Mater Stars Radio Appeal.
The Appeal, held from 18–22 October, raised a healthy A$40 000 to help Mater purchase much-needed specialised medical equipment for the hospitals.
Mr Cec Fox, General Manager of Metalcorp Everything in Steel, a leading Australian steel retailer with 15 locations in Queensland, expressed his delight at being able to support such a worthy cause.
"When we heard some of the emotional stories from the families and patients who had been touched by the care from Mater, we wanted to be a part of the appeal, knowing that we can make a positive difference to the lives of Queensland children.
"We are really pleased to be able to give this donation to Mater so they can buy a Pulse Oximeter which monitors oxygen levels in the blood of sick children," Mr Fox said.
Mr Nigel Harris, Executive Director of Mater Foundation, has touted the appeal as a great success thanks to organisations like Metalcorp Everything in Steel.
"The Queensland public have once again demonstrated their kindness by rallying behind the 4BC Mater Stars Radio Appeal and giving generously.
"Our thanks to 4BC for their tremendous support of the event and to everyone who showed their support by making a donation," Mr Harris said.
