Mater Health Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Perkins as Chief Financial Officer.
In this role, Mr Perkins is responsible for the financial activities of Mater Health Services and plays an integral role in the financial stewardship of the organisation. He will also provide a strategic, commercial approach to the future development of Mater as a key member of the executive.
Mr Perkins’ technical financial and commercial acumen combined with tactical management and leadership skills—built over more than 17 years in the financial services industry—made him the ideal candidate for the role of Chief Financial Officer.
He believes that effective financial stewardship is crucial to ensuring the sustainability of Mater Health Services and the continuation of the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy.
Mr Perkins joined Mater in February 2006 as the Director of Decision Support. During this time he provided strategic and financial advice to the organisation and was pivotal in the development and implementation of improved budgeting and reporting systems.
Prior to joining Mater, Mr Perkins held a variety of corporate accounting and support roles including Business Manager (Queensland Regional Service) and Commercial Development Manager with national telecommunications provider, Telstra.
He holds an undergraduate degree in business, majoring in accounting and marketing, a Master of Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants.
