Help make ‘little miracles’ happen this Easter

This Easter, you can help make little miracles happen, by supporting the Mater Foundation’s annual Mater Little Miracles Easter Appeal. Each and every one of the Mater’s little patients is a miracle.
In 2010, our goal is to raise a staggering $1 million to help staff continue to make little miracles happen everyday at the Mater Mothers’ and Children’s Hospitals.
Proudly supported by: IGA, Bendigo Bank, Guardian Pharmacies, Pizza Capers, Australia Post, Channel Nine and Golden Casket, the Mater Little Miracles Easter Appeal will help thousands of children and babies who receive life-saving medical care at the Mater.
“The task of raising $1 million is a real challenge but it’s the least we can do to support the doctors and nurses who make miracles happen for some of Queensland’s sickest youngsters,” said the Mater Foundation’s Executive Director, Nigel Harris.
“The Mater is such an important part of the community and it’s great to see so many businesses across the state getting behind the Mater Little Miracles Easter Appeal.”
Each year, the Mater Children’s Hospital provides exceptional care to 130,000 children and their families. At the Mater Mothers’ Hospital the Neonatal Critical Care Unit provides intensive specialist care to 2,000 premature and seriously ill babies each year.
Funds for the Easter Appeal are raised through the sale of Miracle MaX merchandise, which can be purchased from any IGA, Bendigo Bank, Guardian Pharmacies, Pizza Capers and selected Australia Post outlets across Queensland. By purchasing the Miracle MaX merchandise at IGA, you will go in the draw to win $2,000 worth of groceries at any IGA store.
In 2010, Golden Casket will match dollar for dollar all public monies raised for the Mater Little Miracles Easter Appeal, up to $500,000 from unclaimed prize money.
For the first time this year, there will be a Nine Network Mater Little Miracles telethon on Good Friday – April 2.
