Mater Health Services and Woolworths are joining forces to deliver an innovative shopping, medical and community facility for the people of Greater Springfield with a turning of the sod event is on Monday 28 November 2011.
Mater Health Centre Brookwater is an integral part of a new development by Woolworths Limited, which will also include a latest design, 4000 square metre Woolworths supermarket and eight specialty shops.
Mater Health Services CEO Dr John O'Donnell said Mater Health Services was thrilled to be moving into the Greater Springfield region to deliver a seamless and holistic health service to the local community.
"Mater Health Centre Brookwater—the health and wellness component of the Brookwater Retail Village—will allow Mater private specialists to practice in the medical suites alongside a range of complementary health service providers including Mater Pharmacy, Mater Pathology, physiotherapy, podiatry, dentistry and X-ray.
"Working with the Springfield Land Corporation and MyLife Medical Group, Mater will deliver a one stop health shop," Dr O'Donnell said.
Springfield Land Corporation Chairman Maha Sinnathamby said Springfield Land Corporation was thrilled to be able to work with Mater Health Services and Woolworths to bring such a diverse range of health services and retail options to the local community.
"Woolworths Limited's investment, which will deliver their fourth retail outlet within a two-kilometre radius, is a vote of confidence in the growth potential of the city of Greater Springfield," Mr Sinnathamby said.
Woolworths Development Manager Chris Sheehan said Woolworths was proud to be partnering with Mater and Springfield.
"We often tailor developments to meet needs of individual communities, but to include important medical services makes this development unique and something we are very proud to be a part of."
