As a part of an ongoing commitment to exceptional care, Mater Private Emergency Care Centre (MPECC) is now ranked as one of the best performing emergency centres in Australia.

Last quarter’s Press Ganey satisfaction survey reported patient satisfaction levels at MPECC had risen significantly since 2007 taking the centre to the 95th percentile.

In addition to the top ranking achieved in the Doctor category, the MPECC also ranked top (99th percentile) in `Personal Issues’ and `Tests’.

Mater Private Hospital Executive Director Don Murray said the result was outstanding.

“Through the determination of the MPECC team they are now ranked among the best in the nation,” Mr Murray said.

MPECC Director of Emergency Medicine Dr Steve Costello said the latest rankings were due to the dedication and care exhibited by all staff.

“It’s about putting our patients first,” Dr Costello said.

“Staff have displayed outstanding interpersonal skills complemented by high-level and diversified clinical skills.

“This is a measured reward for the tremendous effort from everybody in the team from administration to nursing staff and medicos,” he said.

Dr Costello said maintaining high standards would continue to be a priority for the team and their commitment will continue to deliver exceptional results.

Press Ganey – founded in the US – assesses 6500 health care providers globally, 340 of those in Australia. Every 24 hours, some 100 000 patients receive a Press Ganey patient survey.
