Top honours in innovative practice for Mater Private Hospital

On Friday 20 June, a number of Mater’s exceptional people were selected to showcase their innovative practices at the annual Private Hospitals Association of Queensland Innovative Practice in the Private Sector conference with outstanding results.

Innovative Practice in the Private Sector is a one-day conference designed to showcase outcomes in the areas of clinical and non-clinical operational innovations, strategic innovations and education and human resources management.

The annual conference gives private hospitals throughout Australia the opportunity to submit abstracts to showcase and share innovations with industry colleagues.

“Innovative practice is evident throughout the private hospital sector, yet it is not publicly recognised or rewarded,” Mater Private Hospital Director of Nursing, Associate Professor Patricia Snowden said.

“Fourteen presentations from private hospitals throughout Australia were selected as finalists at the conference, including six from Mater Private Hospital Brisbane.”

Mater Private Hospital Executive Director Don Murray congratulated the team who presented at the conference.

“Of even greater pride than the public acknowledgement associated with the conference awards is that of being part of an organisation where patient care and outcomes is so paramount, where our exceptional people are truly focussed on the principles of providing exceptional care and where a set of values bonds us together for the greater good of the community,” he said.

“My thanks to you all for living our values and for the effort you each put into preparing and presenting in the name of Mater.”
