Mater Medical Research Institute

Doctors and people

Mater Medical Research Institute was established in 1998 with a primary focus in cancer research, in addition to research in clinical areas. The Institute is concentrating on fundamental scientific research into cancer with a focus on cancer biotherapy. It is applying the advances in the cell biology revolution to therapeutic procedures designed to maximise the body's natural defence against cancer.

This world-class research is already contributing to significant advances in patient care. As an affiliate of the University of Queensland, the Institute has created an environment which will stimulate interaction between research, teaching and health practices. It provides an academic, scientific and business forum for the development of our research staff and their projects.
