About D.A.R.T.

D.A.R.T. is a domiciliary allied health acute care and rehabilitation service that delivers allied health services to clients residing in the QEII Hospital Health Service District and the Brisbane Metropolitan Area. D.A.R.T. is dedicated to providing services that contribute to the continuum of care of clients. Home visiting for assessment and management is provided by the following health professionals:

  • dietitians
  • occupational therapists
  • physiotherapists
  • psychologists
  • social workers
  • speech pathologists.

D.A.R.T. funding

D.A.R.T.

  • post acute from hospitals in Brisbane and the Bayside
  • palliative care in Brisbane and the Bayside
  • transitional care for elective surgery from hospitals in Brisbane and the Bayside
  • residential care in Brisbane
  • workcover and motor accident insurance in Brisbane
  • St Lukes HACC funded physiotherapy in Brisbane and the Bayside
  • HACC allied health funding in the QEII Hospital Health Service District.

Hours of operation

Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm (answering machine after hours). Physiotherapy and other diciplines are available on the weekend, as required.

D.A.H.T.

D.A.H.T. is the arm of D.A.R.T. that provides services for HACC eligible clients. Allied Health provide services as before. Their funding for the services comes from the HACC program.

These services can be linked to various other HACC-funded allied health professional programs that operate throughout the QEII Hospital Health Service District.

To be HACC eligible the person has to be:

  • frail, aged, with a moderate to severe disability
  • younger, disabled, with a moderate to severe disability or the carer of someone who fits this description
  • not post acute or for palliative care.

D.A.H.T. programs

HACC funded Programs within D.A.H.T. include the following:

  • INFO program, Improved Nutrition For Older Persons.
  • HôME Program, Home management made easier.
  • Speak Easy Program, Group communication sessions for stroke clients with aphasia following their rehabilitation.
  • B.S.A.H.R.S, A link to all HACC service providers (Centre based or domiciliary) in the QEII Health Service District.
  • SILC, Supporting Independent Living Collaboration.
