About Mater Childcare
Owned and operated by Mater Health Services, Mater Childcare 4, is a 70 place centre which celebrated its 7th birthday in 2011. Mater Childcare has an industry reputation and recognised national accreditation for high quality care.
Three new centres, Mater Childcare 1, 2 & 3, will open in an adjacent building from late August 2011, offering 188 new placements. Each of the individually licensed Mater Childcare Centres will be owned and operated by Mater Health Services to support our growing Mater family.
Fee Information
Permanent Enrolments
Mater Childcare offers permanent care. Fees are a set daily rate of $81.00 per child per day.
Occasional Care
Mater Childcare also offers occasional full day, half day and hourly care (hourly care to a maximum of three hours). For more information about occasional care please refer to Mater Childcare's Occasional Care Policy or contact the Centre directly.

Priority of Access Guidelines
Mater Childcare maintains a waiting list based on the Commonwealth Government Priority of Access guidelines. We give priority of enrolment to those families and children considered to be in the greatest need and children of Mater Health Services employees.
Hours of Operation
Monday to Friday 6.30 am to 6.00 pm excluding public holidays and the Christmas/New Year period. Mater Childcare closes at 12 noon on the last business day prior to Christmas and reopens on the first business day in the New Year.
Grouping of Children
- Nursery: Children aged 0 to 2 years
- Junior Toddler: Children aged 15 months to 2 years
- Toddlers: Children aged 15 months to 2 years
- Pre-Kindy: Children aged 2 ½ years to 3 years
- Kindy: Children aged 3 to 5 years
What to Bring
Please remember to bring for your child:
- at least one change of clothes
- bed linen
- hat (broad brimmed or legionnaires)
- a drink bottle and milk bottles for babies
- a piece of fruit for morning tea (contribution to the centre morning tea prepared for all children)

Parking
Mater Childcare 1, 2 & 3
Short term car parking spaces are available for drop-off and pick-up in the basement of the building (off Clarence Street) and in the short term drop-off and pick-up spaces outside Mater Childcare on College Hill Drive (internal road off Annerley Road). Access to the Mater Childcare 1, 2 & 3 is via lift or stairs from the basement of the building as well as via the path from College Hill Drive to level 2 foyer.
Mater Childcare 4
There are several short term car parking spaces located on College Hill Drive and can be used for drop-off and pick-up only. Alternately families with children on level 1 may access Mater Childcare 4 via the gate on Clarence Street.
