Queensland Paediatric Neurosciences Services

The Queensland Paediatric Neurosciences Services operates across two locations—Mater Children’s Hospital Neurosciences Unit and the Royal Children’s Hospital Neurosciences Unit. Combined, they provide tertiary level care for children with neurological disorders in Queensland, northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory, usually on a shared care basis with local medical professionals.
The service provides outpatient neurology clinics at Mater, the Royal Children’s Hospital and at a number of other hospitals and community locations. Telehealth clinics are also provided to regional Queensland and the Northern Territory.
The service provides 24 hour clinical and phone consultation at Mater and the Royal Children’s Hospital and for medical practitioners throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The Service has an active role in providing education, training and teaching in paediatric neurology.
