We have implemented a “priority referral” system that will ensure the consulting surgeon will see you as soon as possible. Our policy is to arrange an appointment within 36 hours of your call wherever possible.

Appointments to suit your lifestyle

To help our patients access the Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre at a convenient time we provide a flexible appointment schedule that can accommodate your lifestyle. We are open for consultations between 8.30 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday and can often extend our hours by arrangement.

Contact with your referring GP

We understand the importance of regular health checks with your trusted GP as a integral part of your health care regime. To help ensure the best results, we maintain contact with your referring GP and provide suggestions about any additional medical requirements.

Support programs

Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre utilises a wide range of clinical, medical and support services for women with breast cancer. Our specialised staff host regular support programs and can arrange referrals to others services to suit your needs.

Breast Imaging Service

We utilise expert services, technology and techniques to provide you with an earlier and more accurate diagnosis. Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre utilises Queensland X-Ray's Women's Diagnostic facilities on site to help reduce patient waiting times.

Breast and Lymph Care Therapy

Our visiting occupational therapist has a special interest in lymphoedema and is available every Monday and Friday for appointments.

Surgical procedures

Some breast treatments require surgery and our staff will discuss your options with you extensively. Patients admitted to hospital through Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre will be accommodated in Mater Private Hospital's breast care ward where experienced nurses provide the highest quality care.

Research and Education

Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre is committed to excellence through development of innovative treatments for breast disorders. The medical team from Mater Private Breast Cancer Centre is currently involved in a variety of research trials.
