This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required for routine blood collection and excludes complex blood collection techniques.
The course is intended for registered nurses, enrolled nurses, research officers and health care professionals working in clinical areas where venipuncture skills are required.
The course includes lectures, practical demonstrations and hands-on experience.
The unit forms part of the Certificate III in Pathology (HLT32607) course.

- proof of registration where necessary
- venipuncture learning guide will be sent out to you once you have enrolled. The package must be competed prior to commencing the course.

On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. For competency to be maintained frequency of practice and re-evaluation at regular intervals is recommended.
