Inpatients

The Speech Pathology Department accepts referrals from Mater hospital medical staff for inpatients in the following wards:

  • 8 South
  • 7 East
  • 7 South
  • PICU
  • Children's Private Ward
  • SCN 1 and 2
  • Neonatal ICU.

Inpatients are prioritised for assessment and seen within 24 hours of referral (excluding weekends).

Outpatients

The following outpatient tertiary clinics and caseloads are serviced:

  • Autism and Related Disorders Clinic
  • Cleft Palate Clinic
  • Craniofacial Clinic
  • Cochlear Implant Clinic (MARCIS)
  • CYMHS
  • Child Protection Unit
  • Developmental Clinic
  • ESSC
  • ENT Clinic (patients with voice disorders and velopharyngeal dysfunction)
  • Feeding Therapy Services
  • Fluency Disorders
  • Home Oxygen Clinic
  • ROBIN Team.

Multi-disciplinary therapy offered includes

  • Infant Development Group
  • Mater Mother's Group,
  • Play Skills Group
  • Prader Willi Group.
