Mater Hill Place

Mater Hill Place provides a comfortable, welcoming and convenient place for patients, carers, family and friends of patients to stay. It's a self-rated 3 star motel with 19 rooms, located over three floors. All units are self-contained and air-conditioned with an ensuite and a small kitchenette comprising a kettle, toaster, electric fry pan, microwave and small fridge. All linen is provided and rooms are serviced. There is a guest laundry and ironing facilities.

Limited off-street parking is available, with further paid parking close by. The motel is within walking distance to all Mater hospitals. All funds are used to support patient care and medical research at Mater.

Reg Leonard House

Reg Leonard House is a block of 17 self-contained units providing comfortable accommodation for regional patients, carers and their families attending Mater hospitals at South Brisbane. The units are just a few minutes’ walk to Mater hospitals.

Each air-conditioned unit has a small kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom, as well as a television. All linen and kitchen facilities are included.

Limited parking is available on site.

All funds are used to support patient care and medical research at Mater.

ATM (MPHM)

An ATM is located on Level 1 opposite the café in the front reception. The machine accepts all cards; however, a fee may be charged by your bank.

Café (MCPB)

Mater has a number of coffee shops located around the Salmon Building. They offer hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, cakes and hot food. The closest café to the hospital is located just outside the ground floor of the Salmon Building along Stanley Street. It offers a range of hot and cold beverages, as well as light snacks and breakfast and lunch meal options.

Café (MHB)

There are two cafés located within Mater Hospital Brisbane that provide a wide range of snacks, meals and hot and cold beverages for patients, visitors and staff. 

McAuley’s Café is located on Level 2 of the hospital in close proximity to the entrance. It’s a convenient café offering light meals, coffee and snacks. Café on 3 is situated on Level 3 and it provides a broad range of hot meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Café (MPHB)

Chloe’s Café is the main eatery based at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane on Level 6; however, a number of other cafés and eateries are located near the hospital that are convenient for you and your family members. Chloe’s Café offers a range of food and beverage options catering to specific dietary needs.

The closest café to the Salmon Building is located just outside the ground floor along Stanley Street. There are a range of other eateries along Stanley Street too.

The Rose Café is open weekdays, offering a range of snacks, meals and hot and cold beverages for patients, visitors and staff at an affordable price.

There is a café located in the main foyer of the hospital, available Monday to Friday, offering a range of snacks, meals and hot and cold beverages for patients, visitors and staff.

There is also a cafeteria located on the ground floor and is available 7 am until 6.30 pm for main meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner and lighter refreshments such as coffee, tea, snacks and sandwiches are also available throughout the day.

There is a café located on the ground floor of Mater Private Hospital Redland catering to patients, visitors and staff. It provides a wide range of snacks, meals and hot and cold beverages.

There is a café  located at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton that caters to patients, visitors and staff.  It provides a wide range of snacks, meals and hot and cold beverages.

A café is located on Level 2 of the hospital near the front reception desk offering a range of beverages and snacks as well as breakfast and lunch meal options. Phone orders are welcome.

Patients are encouraged to bring their own personal electronic devices to hospital, whether that’s a mobile phone, tablet or laptop.  From any Wi-Fi enabled device, patients and their family can access a free Wi-Fi service while they are at hospital.

There is a florist located at Mater Private Hospital Mackay, available for visitors of patients in the hospital.

Healing Garden (MPHS)

Spending time in hospital can be very stressful for patients and their loved ones. Mater Private Hospital Springfield offers a pleasing, calming and tranquil rooftop healing garden where patients and their families can enjoy a short walk, a chat or simply just a break to enjoy the natural outdoor environment. Regularly cared for by hospital maintenance staff, the healing garden will continue to offer benefits to the Springfield community well into the future.

Interpreter Service

Effective communication between patients and staff is important. Interpreter services are available and can be organised by the nurse caring for you.

Mater Pharmacy

There are two Mater Pharmacy locations, on Level 6 of Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and Level 2 of the Salmon Building. Mater Pharmacy offers script and dispensary services, as well as a wide range of gifts. For hospital inpatients, the pharmacy has an electronic ordering system so required medicines can be dispensed by our pharmacists and delivered to your hospital room.

To ensure your medications are managed safely while in hospital, a Mater Pharmacist is available to review medications that you have been taking at home. Please ensure that you have all your medications with you in their original containers and any current prescriptions. Or, if you take many regular medications, please request a medication list from your local pharmacy and bring this too.

During your stay your specialist doctor may ask you to stop taking your regular medications or prescribe additional medication as part of your treatment plan. For this reason, medications that have been put into a dosette box or Webster pack cannot be used while you are in hospital. New supplies are required to ensure your safety.

Pathology (MPHBg)

Private pathology services are available at Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg. All accounts will be forwarded directly to you by the individual Pathologist.

Pathology (MPHM)

A pathology service is provided for hospital inpatients. If your doctor requests pathology tests, the nursing staff will arrange for a member of the pathology service to visit you in your room.

Pathology (MPHRn)

Pathology services are supplied by multiple providers who attend each hospital (i.e. QML, Sullivan & Nicolaides). Your doctor will let you know of their preferred provider for you to use. Charges for pathology will be billed separately by the individual provider.

Pharmacy (MPHBg)

Medications for inpatients of  Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg are supplied by the pharmacy. All new medications will be
ordered on your behalf through a community pharmacy.

To ensure your medications are managed safely while in hospital, a pharmacist may review medications that you have been taking at home. Please ensure that you have all your medications with you in their original containers and any current prescriptions. Or, if you take many regular medications, please request a medication list from your local pharmacy and bring this too.

During your stay your specialist doctor may ask you to stop taking your regular medications or prescribe additional medication as part of your treatment plan. I-MED Radiology provides inpatient radiology services. Charges for radiology or imaging services performed during your hospital admission will be billed separately.

Radiology (MPHM)

Complementing the hospital’s facilities is Queensland X-Ray offering a range of procedures including X-Rays, OPG, Fluoroscopy, CAT Scans, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Echocardiography and Ultrasound examinations.

Students (MPHM)

Mater Private Hospital Mackay is a teaching facility and doctors and nurses in training could be present. Your doctor/nurse will introduce any students to you. Please let us know if you would prefer not to have students present in your care. Asking to be seen alone will not affect your care.

Students (MPHBg)

Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg is a teaching hospital. Nursing and allied health students may be performing practical experience during your hospital stay. If you have any concerns or objection to students participating in your care, please notify the nurse in charge of your ward.
