Stomal Therapy and Wound Management

The stomal therapist is responsible for helping patients adjust to living with either a permanent or temporary stoma be it a colostomy, ileostomy or urostomy. This role includes pre-operative counselling, immediate post-operative care and education and follow-up assessment and counselling following patient discharge.

The wound manager assesses and implements the management of complex wounds. The wound care manage has an in-depth knowledge of contemporary wound care practises and a thorough knowledge of current wound care products.
