Mater Child and Youth Mental Health Service provides specialised assessment and treatment services for children and young people (zero to 18 years) at risk of and/or experiencing significant emotional and behavioural difficulties, complex mental health disorders and drug and alcohol-related problems. Private
Kids in Mind Private Clinic is a private practice that addresses the emotional and psychological needs of children, young people and their families. It provides high quality care through a team of experienced professionals. Download the brochure to find out more.
Public
Mater CYMHS provides a continuum of care for patients through community and hospital-based assessment and treatment programs. These are conducted at community clinics at Inala, Greenslopes and Yeronga, a Day Program facility and a 12 bed Inpatient Unit on Mater's campus. Other specialised aspects of the service include:
- a five bed ADAWS
- PATS
- research unit
- consultation liaison services
- early intervention and outreach
- an Infant Mental Health Clinic.
The clinical services are supported by the Mater CYMHS Management Unit, Kids in Mind Research: Mater Centre for Service Research in Mental Health, Kids in Mind: Training and Kids in Mind:Consulting. A paid consumer participation program informs the planning, development and delivery of services within Mater CYMHS. More information can be found on the

Mater CYMHS is the principal tertiary provider for Child and Youth Mental Health Services within the Southern Zone of Queensland Health and provides inpatient services for other Districts within the Zone (Logan, Bayside and West Moreton Health Service Districts).
The population receiving outpatient services from Mater CYMHS reside in the southern suburbs of Brisbane. This population also receives other types of health care services provided by QEII and Princess Alexandra Hospital Health Services Districts.
