Maternity Research Program

The Maternity research program conducts epidemiological and clinical research into birthweight, perinatal mortality (with a focus on unexplained stillbirth), reduced fetal movement, diabetes and glucose intolerance, substance use in pregnancy and preterm birth prevention.

Program Heads: Vicki Flenady and Dr Michael Beckman

Vicki Flenady is the deputy director of Mater Research Support Centre and the research director for the Centre for Clinical Studies. Michael Beckmann is a staff specialist in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology.
