The Women's Health Surgical Unit officially opened on 20 January 2003. It is  a 24 bed unit located on level 8A of Mater Adult Hospital.

Services include:

• relaxation music
• educational material (videos and brochures)
• massage (hand and foot)
• complementary therapies
• magazines
• family room.

The unit is designed to make the patient feel comfortable and relaxed which in turn aids a quick recovery. We believe that easy access to educational material whether it is through our staff or the material we have in the unit will greatly benefit and reassure patient and family.

Staff 

• one unit manager
• two clinical nurses
• 10 registered nurses
• two enrolled nurses
• one AIN
• one Administration Officer
• one case manager.
