Mater Pathology, in association with First Aid Alive, is proud to offer nationally recognised training in senior First Aid. This is a comprehensive yet simple course for everyday emergency situations, providing competence suitable for the provision of first aid management to casualties.
Course Outline
This is a one day course running from 9 am to 4.30 pm and includes the following content:
- assess the scene of an accident and conduct assessment of casualty
- provide basic life support for adult, child and infant
- management of wounds, external and internal bleeding, sprains, strains, dislocations and fractures
- managing medical emergencies, environmental conditions, thermal and other burns, and bites and stings
- successful completion of workbook is required to complete the course.
Course Costs
The cost of the course is A$130 and includes a student workbook, Active First Aid text book and provision of both morning and afternoon tea. To secure a placement in the course, payment is to accompany the enrolment form.
Program Entry Requirements
Participants must be 14 years or older. On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
As per the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, CPR skills are to be reassessed at least annually to maintain competency. Industry requirements state that first aid competencies must be reassessed every three years.
