During a twenty five year career Alastair has delivered information management, technology and digital services in both the public and private sector. He has held executive leadership positions in Australia and overseas delivering complex organisational change and capital works programs.

Alastair’s career commenced as an intelligence officer in the Australian Army including serving with the United Nations in East Timor.  Following his career in the Army, Alastair held positions for a range of consulting firms delivering specialist information technology advice for public and private sector organisations.

Alastair has worked in a range of healthcare roles including being appointed the first Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.  As CIO and later as the Chief Digital Officer Alastair’s delivered on a broad transformation agenda as well as implemented contemporary information and digital services that supported the delivery of high quality and safe care.

He is passionate about providing digital services that are focused on improving patient experience and health outcomes for the communities we serve and delivering digital transformation that supports the integration of clinical, education and research ministries.

Alastair holds a Master of Science in Information Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Information Management and Analysis as well as a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Politics.  He is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Australia and the Australian Defence Force Academy.
