Mater Education was recently engaged by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) to provide an Introduction to Simulation Methodology (ISM)  two day interactive workshop.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) wanted to update and provide their Queensland Clinical Training and Development team with evidenced based knowledge relating to the development, delivery, debriefing and evaluation of simulation based educational activities.

As RFDS looks to their future their intent is to construct and implement a state wide simulation education framework and to review and standardise existing simulation activities.

Workshop attendees were encouraged to consider how ISM’s concepts and principles could be applied as they engage in these activities and support their colleagues through simulation activities.

"The workshop measured up against all of our expectations and went well beyond. Mater Education made our team feel so well supported and welcome,” RFDS Clinical Training & Development Manager Ronan Sweeney said.

"The learnings achieved make for a perfect platform to build upon us as we continue to design and implement the best possible high quality education for our clinical workforce.”

The Royal Flying Doctor Service looks forward to further developing and building on their relationship with Mater Education long in to the future.
