Dr Don Cave—Member, Clinical Safety & Excellence Committee

Dr Cave graduated from The  University of Adelaide in 1970. He undertook his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Adelaide and the United Kingdom receiving Membership of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1976. In 1979 he became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and in 1989 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetics and Gynaecology.

Dr Cave entered into private practice in Adelaide in 1979 and was a senior VMO at Queen Victoria Hospital and Royal Adelaide Hospitals. From 1992 he was a Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Queensland Health including at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.  In 2006 he took up the role of Director of Perinatal Medicine and Women's Health at Mater Mother's Hospital and remained in this position until retiring from that role in 2013. Dr Cave is currently the Senior Medical Consultant in the Clinical Safety and Quality Unit at Mater Health and a member of the Clinical Safety and Excellence Committee.
