Meet the Mater People Award Winners - Anthony Wilson

16/Dec/2020     Mater Group

Congratulations to the Logistics and Business Support Manager, Supply Chain Operations Anthony Wilson who won in the Mater Supporter of the Year category at the Mater People Awards.

The award sought to recognise an individual for the most significant contribution in supporting Mater. This could be through fundraising, corporate support, philanthropic advocacy for Mater, values-based treatment of all stakeholders.

Anthony was recognised for working tirelessly through the COVID crisis to understand demand and provide critical stock, including the necessary PPE to treat Coronavirus patients.

He liaised closely with our clinical and quality and risk teams, and Queensland Health, to ensure their needs were taken into consideration and provided the support and stock necessary.

He partnered with the procurement team to source alternatives and proactively manage inventory levels and open orders to monitor and track supply. He was able to mobilise and support new COVID-19 wards ensuring they were adequately stocked for a COVID-19 response.

Thanks in great part to his quick and tireless efforts, the safety of Mater People and patients was assured. Anthony is also noted for his contribution to supporting North and Central Queensland teams to go live with minimal disruption in a new financial management system, Navision.

This involved many hours of support, building requirements, following up data and working with each of the sites to ensure their successful transition. A committed Mater person, Anthony is motivated by a strong customer focus.

He does whatever it takes to deliver positive staff, consumer and patient outcomes, working long hours, often over weekends, in support of the team.

Congratulations to the other finalists for these awards including,

  • Professor Brian Gabrielli from Mater Research
  • Associate Professor Paul Griffin Director of Infectious Diseases
  • Sallyanne Wissmann Director Information Management, Digital Technology and Information Division
