For Jordy, her decision to study the Diploma of Nursing program with Mater Education was an easy one.
Having completed Mater Education’s VETiS program during high school, she saw it as the perfect way to advance her education with a provider she trusted.
“I already knew I wanted to pursue a career in nursing, and I wanted to continue my education somewhere that I knew excellence was just a way of life. I chose to study with Mater Education because I loved the idea of being surrounded by real medical professionals who shared the same joy and passion that I do.”
Jordy’s passion for nursing comes from her youth, where she was humbled by the support provided to her and her family during a trying time.
“My dad got extremely sick with a rare infection and spent 14 weeks in the hospital when I was just 9 years old. I was overwhelmed with the incredible support the healthcare team provided to my Dad and how influential they were at his most vulnerable. Since this day, I’ve always wanted to give back to the community. Being able to make a difference in someone’s life makes it all worth it and it’s why I thoroughly enjoy what I do.”
Having recently graduated, Jordy reflected on her study experience with Mater Education and the opportunities provided both professionally and personally.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Mater Education. I made so many new friends and met some incredible educators who I know will influence my practice for the rest of my career. Everyone becomes such a huge part of your life. It’s like everyone becomes one big family with so much support around you."
“The educators obtain a wealth of knowledge and are there to support you through your journey. They prepare you to work confidently within the workforce and make the transition really easy.”
