Mater Private Hospital Springfield Celebrates Fourth Birthday

Mater Private Hospital Springfield has been serving the community for the past four years and has treated over 35,000 patients who have walked through the doors since 2015.

The hospital boasts 80 private beds as well as a day surgery unit, providing the local community with access to innovative, world-class healthcare facilities including four digitally-integrated operating theatres and a cancer care centre.

Director of Clinical Services Suzanne Hawksley said since opening the hospital has reached some impressive healthcare milestones.

“We have performed close to 30,000 surgeries and 13,000 cancer treatments since we opened and the hospital is only getting busier,” she said.

“The growing demand for healthcare in this area demonstrates the hospital is meeting the previously unmet needs of the Springfield community.

“The hospital campus is smaller than most but we are a really tight-knit family here. We are able to offer our patients a personalised service as we build a rapport with them.”

Suzanne went on to say many of the staff at Springfield hospital have been working there since the doors first opened which was a credit to their commitment to Mater and the local community.

“The hospital has established fantastic relationships in the Greater Springfield community. We are actively engaged in our wider community, connecting in with local schools, aged care providers and other health services,” she said.

“As the city of Springfield grows we are only seeing a higher demand for health care services in the area as the needs of the population increase.”

Mater has expansion plans to support the people of Greater Springfield which will include an emergency department and maternity services, with the aim of providing exceptional healthcare for future generations.

Staff at Springfield today enjoyed a barbeque lunch, gelato cart, cake and cupcakes being circulated to night staff this evening.
