We were so proud of our researchers Professor Josephine Forbes, Dr Sandy Richardson, Julie Cichero and Chloe Yap who were finalists at this year’s Women in Technology Awards.

Congratulations to Jo Forbes for winning the premier science award of the night – the Outstanding Achiever Science Award, in recognition of her important contribution to research in diabetes and kidney disease.

A big shout out also to Chloe Yap who was highly commended in the Emerging Achiever Science Award. With Chloe still completing her Fulbright Scholarship in the US, her sister Claire Yap kindly accepted the prize on her behalf.

Mater Research was not only on the receiving end of awards – sponsoring the Rural, Regional & Remote Award which was presented by the Chair of our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee Professor Sumaira Hasnain to the Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer of Black Box Co Emma Black.
It was a treat to gather with hundreds of women and men at the gala event to celebrate the success ofour Mater Researchers and other amazing female leaders in science and technology.
Executive Director, Mater Research, Maher Gandhi said the organisation was fortunate to have so many women doing amazing work and inspiring the next generation of leaders by showing what is possible.
