Mater Private Hospital Brisbane's Intensive care unit (ICU) is a specialised ward that cares for patients who are very ill or need special care and observation. The unit has a very specialised team of medical and nursing staff who have extensive experience in delivering intensive care for patients who are have a range of complex conditions.
Our highly trained medical and nursing team work together to provide the highest level of care to the patients. We acknowledge that this can be a stressful time for families and will have concerns for your loved one's condition, so please do not hesitate to ask any questions of your care team.
Rest is an essential part of a patient’s recovery so visiting is restricted to people the patient considers to be immediate family. Children may visit at any time, if appropriate, after discussion with clinical staff.
You can find out more about visiting a loved one in ICU by reading this brochure.
