Biography

Dr Rebecca Moor is a consultant medical oncologist specialising in breast and thoracic cancers.

After graduating from the inaugural class of Griffith Medical School in 2008 and completing her Internal Medicine Physician training in South East Queensland at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Dr Moor underwent post graduate Medical Oncology training across tertiary hospitals in Queensland.

After obtaining her FRACP, she undertook a clinical research fellowship at the Mater Cancer Care Centre where she continued as a staff specialist in the public oncology unit until moving into private practice in 2022.

Throughout this time, she has gained extensive experience in managing patients with a broad range of solid tumour malignancies and complex health care needs, and considers it a privilege to be able to help with the management and treatment of her patients with a compassionate and thorough patient care approach. She is actively involved in Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting and clinical research to ensure patients get access to the latest information and optimal therapies available.

Dr Moor participates in clinical trials through Mater Research’s Medical Oncology Clinical Trials group and is the lead or associate investigator on a number of  clinical trials focusing on breast and lung cancers. Her strong interest in thoracic cancers was recognised as one of only 20 early career physicians worldwide to be awarded into the International Association for Study of Lung Cancer, IASLC, Academy and mentoring program for 2019-2021. During this time, she participated on the IASLC Patient Advocacy committee, and has been invited to speak at national and international meetings and conferences.

Dr Moor now works as a private medical oncologist at the Mater Cancer Care Centres, at both the South Brisbane and Springfield campuses.
