Biography
Dr Gian Capati is a specialist General Surgeon practising at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane.
Dr Capati completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Queensland.
He completed his general surgical training and subspecialist colorectal training at Mater Hospital Brisbane and Canberra Hospital.
Dr Capati is accredited to perform upper gastrointestinal endoscopies and colonoscopies by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
He participates in direct access endoscopy for patients’ convenience.
Dr Capati takes particular pride in cultivating and fostering collaborative relationships with other clinicians and allied health staff to provide optimal patient care.
As a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Queensland State Committee, he is an ardent supporter for the advancement and improvement of professional opportunities for younger surgical fellows and subsequently, the provision of surgical services in Queensland.
Dr Capati is a passionate medical educator, teaching medical students at The University of Queensland, James Cook University and The Australian National University during his surgical training and as a consultant.
He has participated in the formal teaching programs for junior medical staff while working at Mater Hospital Brisbane and Canberra Hospital. Dr Capati has recently finished as the Director of Clinical Training at the Mater Hospital Brisbane.
