Biography

Kirstin takes a patient-centred approach to managing gynaecological problems.  She believes in working in partnership with her patients to find a solution that meets each woman’s individual preferences and needs.  Depending on the problem this may vary from conservative lifestyle management to medical and/or surgical options.  If surgery is required, Kirstin has a preference for minimally invasive surgery to enhance her patients wellbeing and recovery.  Kirstin commonly sees women for investigation of infertility, difficulties in early pregnancy, abnormal cervical screening tests, vulval and vaginal skin conditions, menstrual complaints, hormonal problems including polycystic ovarian syndrome and menopausal symptoms, ovarian pathology, prolapse and urinary incontinence and post-menopausal bleeding.

Her first degree was in science with honours in molecular biology for which she received a university medal. She then completed post-graduate medicine at the University of Queensland in 2007.  Kirstin is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and has completed her Masters of Reproductive Medicine.   

Dr Kirstin is a staff specialist the Mater Mothers’ Hospital South Brisbane where she practices general and high risk obstetrics.  She teaches as an associate lecturer with University of Queensland.   Kirstin holds membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society, Australasian Menopause Society, and Australian Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.

Kirstin conducts private practice at Mater Private Hospital Springfield for gynaecology patients and consults at Mater Health Hub, Springfield.

Kirstin has 3 young children and enjoys running, ultimate frisbee, camping, reading and spending time with her family.
