Biography

Dr Aung is a Staff Specialist Medical Oncologist at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton. In addition to oncological experience and expertise in solid tumour malignancies, he has a special interest in Palliative Medicine.

Dr Aung completed his basic physician training at Eastern Health, Victoria, and accomplished advanced training in Medical Oncology under Victorian Medical Oncology Training Program (VMOTP) to attain Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He trained in the Wesley Hospital, Brisbane for his Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine.

Dr Aung achieved Master of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Sydney. He has involved in research activities, and published scientific papers, and presented posters and abstracts in scientific meetings.

Dr Aung has great enthusiasm and experience in teaching and is appointed as a senior lecturer in the University of Queensland Rural Clinical School.
