Biography

Dr Parfitt is a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon experienced in both upper and lower limb trauma and general Orthopaedics. He has an interest in problems of the knee, hip and shoulder and has competed further subspecialist training in these areas.

Dr Parfitt immigrated to Australia from New Zealand to pursue a degree in medicine from the University of Queensland medical
school. He spent his initial years working at the two major trauma hospitals in Brisbane where he developed an interest in surgery,
and orthopaedics in particular. After completing his orthopaedic training at the start of 2020, he undertook further subspecialist training in Adult Lower Limb Arthroplasty and Reconstruction as well as Advanced Upper Limb Surgery.

Dr Parfitt holds specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority, is a member of the Australasian Orthopaedic Association and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Dr Parfitt works publicly for Queensland Health at the Logan and Redland Hospitals where he is involved in the education and training of medical students, junior staff and future orthopaedic surgeons. Privately he consults at rooms at the Mater Private Clinics in South Brisbane and operates at the Mater Private, South Brisbane, Greenslopes Private and Redland Campuses.
