As General Manager of Mater Private Hospital Springfield and Mater Hospital Springfield stage 2, Suzanne has a passion for leadership and developing and growing high performing teams, with the main goal to ensure that patients have access to high quality care and excellent outcomes, important also as Mater and Queensland Health have partnered to deliver a new public Hospital in Springfield.
With over 35 years in health care, Suzanne began her nursing career at the Princess Alexandra Hospital before moving to Melbourne where she has spent much of her career with a major private hospital group. Suzanne has worked in leadership roles from Nurse Unit Manager, ACDS to Acting Director of Clinical Services in in areas of Rehabilitation, Mental Health and Acute Services. before moving back to Queensland in 2017 as Director of Nursing Mater Private Hospital Springfield
As a dedicated oncology Nurse, Suzanne observed the positive impact skilled nurses who delivered care with kindness and compassion, could make to patients, their families and their colleagues. Empowering and enabling is fundamental in developing new leaders and creating positive cultures, required to meet the healthcare needs of the community. Suzanne also thoroughly enjoys the collaborative aspects of her role, fostering & maintaining strong relationships with valued partners, the community & team members such as allied health providers, medical officers, executive leadership & external stake holders alike.
