Thank you to all employees who participated in the ballot for Mater’s Nursing and Midwifery Enterprise Agreement.

A majority of employees voted in favour of the four-year agreement, which delivers a range of improvements, including:

  • Wage increases totalling 13.5 per cent over four years, with back pay to 1 July 2025
  • Improved Sunday penalty rates, increasing from 175 per cent to 200 per cent, effective July 2028
  • The introduction of a Dual Qualification Allowance for nurses and midwives who hold and utilise two undergraduate degrees at Mater

The agreement will now be lodged with the Fair Work Commission (FWC) for formal approval. Once approved, all remaining terms and conditions, including allowance increases, will come into effect.

The backdated 3 per cent wage increase to 1 July 2025 will be processed on Thursday 21 May.

Thank you for your continued contribution to shaping the future of nursing and midwifery.
