Thank you to all employees who participated in the ballot for Mater’s Nursing and Midwifery Enterprise Agreement.

The Fair Work Commission has approved the Mater Nursing and Midwifery Enterprise Agreement 2026, with an operational date of Thursday 25 June 2026.

As part of Mater’s ballot commitment, nurses and midwives covered by the Agreement have already received 3% back pay to 1 July 2025, with an additional wage increase of 2.5% to be applied and effective from the first full pay period after 1 July 2026.

All remaining terms and conditions of the agreement will be now be implemented from the operational date, including;
  • Increases to allowances including 13.7% increase to on call allowance.
  • The introduction of a Dual Qualification Allowance for nurses and midwives who hold and utilise two undergraduate degrees at Mater. 
  • Ability to request alternative rostering arrangements that will assist with greater flexibility and work life balance.
