Mater has been caring for Queensland communities for more than 120 years, with a longstanding commitment to compassionate, high-quality care for everyone who needs us. Today, we are the state’s largest for-purpose private healthcare group, with 17 hospitals across Queensland.
As we prepare to welcome Gold Coast Private Hospital into the Mater network, our focus is on maintaining continuity of care, supporting existing services and teams while ensuring a smooth transition for patients and families. Mater’s strengths — including intensive care, cardiology, maternity, cardiac catheter labs and private emergency services — closely align with those already offered at Gold Coast Private Hospital.
Behind the scenes, Mater and Healthscope are working closely together to ensure a smooth and respectful transition. Care will continue to be delivered in the same way during this period, with no disruption to services, staff or patient experience.
Gold Coast Private Hospital will continue to operate as normal throughout the transition.
