We know that having a baby is a special time for you and your family. As a part of Australia’s largest maternity service, we’re here to support you through preconception, pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
During your stay at Mater Mothers’ Private Rockhampton, you are guaranteed accommodation in a private room with ensuite. Our room service delivers freshly prepared, nutritious meals direct to your bedside. You and your family will also have around the clock access to the expertise and support offered by our caring team. They will work closely with your obstetrician to deliver compassionate, expert care for you and your baby in preparation for going home.
You will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and a comprehensive selection of support services in one convenient location, including antenatal and parent education classes. Our onsite Special Care Nursery provides care to babies born prematurely from 32 weeks and over 1.5 kilograms, with 24/7 paediatric cover also available.

Visiting hours
At Mater we recognise the importance of visiting your loved ones at times that are convenient to you. We encourage family and friends to visit patients between 12pm to 1pm and 3.30pm to 8pm, seven days a week.
Please note, to ensure patients have adequate rest and recovery periods, we promote a rest period between 1pm and 3.30pm.
