At Mater we recognise the importance of family and friends being able to visit our patients during their stay to support the health and wellbeing of our patients.
In a time of vulnerability or sickness, we know a visit from a friend or family member can be just what is needed, bringing emotional support,
Visits play an important role in keeping up to date with your loved one’s condition by working in partnership with their healthcare team to ensure the needs of patient is met.
When visiting a patient in hospital, we do ask that you keep noise to a minimum as a courtesy to our other patients and that children under 16 are always accompanied by an adult.

We encourage family and friends to visit patients between 8 am and 8 pm, seven days a week.
Please note, to ensure patients have adequate rest and recovery periods, we promote a rest period between 1 pm and 3 pm.
Mater Children's Private Brisbane
We encourage family and friends to visit patients between 8 am and 8 pm, seven days a week.

We encourage family and friends to visit patients between 10 am to 1:30 pm and 3 pm to 8:30 pm, seven days a week.
Please note Mater Mothers' Private Mackay visiting hours are from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm and 3 pm to 8:30 pm, seven days a week.
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton
We encourage family and friends to visit patients between 10 am and 8 pm, seven days a week.
Mater Private Hospital Townsville
We encourage family and friends to visit patients on all wards (excluding ICU) between 8 am to 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm to 8 pm, seven days a week.
For our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients, visiting is restricted to people the patient considers to be immediate family. Children under the age of 16 are encouraged not to visit the ward, however if appropriate, may be able to after discussion with clinical staff.
Visiting hours for ICU are between 11 am to 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm to 6 pm, seven days a week.
