Information for visitors
Mater welcomes visitors to all of its hospitals, but we request you do not visit if you:
- have tested positive to COVID-19 in the past 7 days
- are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test
- have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 5 days
- have acute respiratory symptoms
Exemptions may be considered at each hospital’s discretion in cases involving end-of-life care, emergency care, childbirth, or if a dependant patient (adult, paediatric or neonatal) requires critical medical treatment and needs a support person.
We discourage visitors to COVID-19 positive patients, however visitors may be allowed at the discretion of the Unit Manager. If allowed, the Unit Manager will advise you of the guidelines for the visit and education will be provided on how to correctly wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Mask wearing
Mask wearing is encouraged at all Mater facilities.
