Townsville — Private Emergency Department

Comprehensive emergency care

An expert team of doctors and nurses provide comprehensive emergency treatment and care at the Emergency Department. Patients have direct access to onsite diagnostic services, theatres and a wide range of on-call specialists and referral services.

Patients can self-present or be referred by their doctor.

The Emergency Department is located at Mater Private Hospital Townsville and operated by Private Emergency Health Australia (PEHA). The service is open 7am - 10pm, seven days a week.

What to expect

Every patient is triaged by an experienced registered nurse on arrival to ensure that patients are treated in order of their clinical urgency. Patients who are assessed to be safe may have to wait longer for further assessment and treatment, or admission to hospital.

Fees
