Breast surgery

Mater specialists are able to support patients with all breast surgeries from the treatment or prevention of breast cancer to aesthetic improvements.

Congenital deformities

Presenting as either structural or functional anomalies, some can cause physical disability, intellectual or developmental disorders, or other health problems if not treated.

Craniofacial Surgery

Defects treated by craniofacial surgeons can include craniosynostosis, craniofacial clefts, acute and chronic sequelae of facial fractures, and more.

Skin cancer and melanoma

Melanoma that are found early can generally be treated with surgery (localised melanoma). Mater's clinicians and specialists will work closely with you throughout diagnosis and treatment to ensure you are a key part of your healthcare journey.

Aesthetic or cosmetic surgery includes abdominoplasties, breast augmentation, eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty. This may form a part of other reconstructive surgeries - your specialist will discuss outcomes with you prior to your procedure.

Celebrating half a century of craniofacial expertise

In 1975, Mater surgeons performed their first craniofacial surgery on a four-year-old boy - and 50 years later, Mater in partnership with Queensland Children's Hospital now perform an average of 40 complex craniofacial procedures each year.
