Private psychology with QCEIDAH

Private psychology now available through Queensland Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability and Autism Health (QCEIDAH)

Supporting a person with learning difficulties to lead a healthy and happy life can often be challenging. Our expert psychology support provides compassionate care to QCEIDAH patients 16 years and over and their families, offering specialised assessment and intervention designed to meet their needs and address mental health concerns.

Private psychology services include: 

  • Cognitive and functional assessments 
  • Autism assessments (ADOS-2)
  • Management of anxiety, depression and other mental health difficulties
  • Strategies for coping with stress, trauma and adjustment issues
  • Promoting the development and improvement of social interaction skills
  • Working to overcome relationship difficulties
  • Skill building in time management, planning and organisation
  • Individually targeted sessions for discrete issues such as sleep problems

All QCEIDAH services are provided in a respectful, holistic manner where our team collaborate with others to support the best outcomes for families. These services are facilitated by a registered clinical psychologist from Mater’s Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane.

Private psychology sessions

Referrals from your GP, treating psychiatrist, or other healthcare provider are essential to access this private service. QCEIDAH can offer psychological therapeutic support services to people aged 16 years and over covered by NDIS funding packages.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Mater is a registered NDIS provider of therapeutic supports. The NDIS can be confusing and it is sometimes difficult to understand funding arrangements and find services that work for you, your family and your carers. Since the beginning of the program, we have been working alongside clients to support them with their NDIS-funded allied health solutions. We will work with you to tailor a range therapies that will help build your capacity to do the important things in life. 

QCEIDAH does not provide crisis mental health support. If you are seeking urgent assistance and care, please speak to your local GP who can refer you to dedicated specialist support.
