Total knee replacements, robotic-assisted partial knee replacements, arthroscopic knee surgeries for meniscal or cartilage injuries, total ankle replacements, ankle fusion, arthroscopic ankle surgeries, minimally invasive bunion surgery, flat foot and cavovarus (high arch) corrective surgeries, foot and ankle trauma and total hip replacements. 

Biography

Dr Ali Vakili is a Queensland-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon practising at Mater Private Hospital Springfield and has advanced fellowship training in hip and knee arthroplasty, and foot and ankle surgery.

Dr Vakili worked as an Orthopaedic Consultant and the Deputy Director of the Orthopaedic Department at Ipswich Hospital. 

He completed a fellowship at the world-class Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University Hospital in Canada. 

His focus during this time included honing his skills in hip and knee arthroplasty, including robotic-assisted hip and knee surgery. 

Dr Vakili also focused on foot and ankle surgery, including management of degenerative disease, deformity correction using minimally invasive methods, as well as foot and ankle trauma and sports-related injuries. 

Dr Vakili’s interest in orthopaedic-related sports injuries saw him complete a Master of Sports Medicine at The University of Queensland. 

He is enthusiastic about treating athletes of any age with lower limb injuries related to sports, including ankle ligament injuries as well as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) ruptures resulting in ongoing knee instability.
