Biography
Dr Alison Hallett is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon at Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg committed to delivering expert compassionate care across elective adult upper limb and trauma surgery.
Dr Hallett completed her medical degree at the University of Liverpool in 1995, followed by specialist training covering trauma and orthopaedics in Edinburgh. During this time, she also attended a clinical visitation with renowned Professor Christian Gerber in Switzerland to observe management of common upper limb problems.
Dr Hallett completed a fellowship in upper limb surgery at the Perth Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic, before returning to the UK and commencing as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Royal Blackburn Hospital – servicing a population of more than 500,000 residents.
Since moving to Bundaberg in 2018, Dr Hallett has also been a consultant at Bundaberg Base Hospital, where she is actively involved in the training of medical students and junior doctors.
Dr Hallett continues to train and educate her colleagues, presenting regularly to GPs and occupational therapists on shoulder examinations and current techniques in shoulder surgery as well as teaching Bundaberg’s junior doctors basic surgical skills.
